Getting What You Want Is Remarkably Easy – But There’s a Huge Catch

Occasionally you will be whipped.

I started working out with resistance bands. I don’t have to drive all the way to the gym and I can start small…little victories.

Today I had the bands in the door. I was doing rows.

The anchor slipped out of the door frame, and like a giant slingshot, it flung itself into my chest. Perfectly symbolically, it left a big red cross over my heart.

I sprawled across the floor, moaning and clutching my chest — and almost immediately laughing at myself.

I was tempted to say, “That’s enough for today.” But there was another voice in my head telling me to keep going.

I knew that I had to put the bands back in the door, make it more secure, and keep working out.

There’s just no way I was letting that one mistake get in the way of what I want.

Despite being whipped across my chest, I am still going to work out with an “open heart.”

Yes, I learned my lesson. That same mistake won’t happen again. But something new could go always wrong.

I am willing to take that risk.

All hearts get whipped
