I came into this article thinking I'd find reason to not believe you. You completely changed my mind.

As someone who grew up in Louisiana, I would do well to remember what it was like there for my black friends. It's easier to think this stuff doesn't exist.

While I believe it's getting better, what you went through sounds awful.
