I would add to your note about the Categorical Imperative. It isn’t just a rule that must be followed. It’s supposed to be a rational rule based on this thinking: “Act only according to that maxim whereby you can, at the same time, will that it should become a universal law.”
So, it’s like, you always have to do things that you would desire to be done by everyone all the time.
Don’t think what you have is wrong at all! Just though that this little background makes it way more interesting as a concept in my opinion.
