Telling Stories Unlocks New Parts of Your DNA

One group of people practiced piano.

The other group of people didn’t — but were told to merely “imagine” practicing. They literally never touched a key.

At the end of the timeframe, the groups were tested on skill. The group that only imagined practicing made nearly as much improvement as the group who actually played the piano.

What you imagine becomes real to you.

New experiences unlock new parts of your DNA

Scientists used to think that DNA was 99% “junk.”

They now know that a lot of that DNA is actually “potential.” Meaning, it only turns on if you put yourself in a situation that demands it.

If you work out, muscle-building DNA turns on. If you travel to another country, language-learning DNA turns on.

That means that there are literally whole other genetic entities lying dormant in you.

Who knows what sleeping dragon lies waiting within you.

Put those studies together

If both of those things are true, then it stands to reason that telling (and consuming) stories turn you into…
